Rose Marie
by Rudolf Friml & Herbert Stothart

Rose Marie is a musical operetta in the grand tradition. It deals with Love and Loss set against the beautiful backdrop of the Canadian Rockies. Depicted here are four examples of computer renderings developed for this musical. The designs were inspired by the work of Maxfield Parish. Parishes work employed a revolutionary technique of glazes meant to emulate the four-color printing process. This technique allowed him to capture a sense of light and air that no other artist has been able to emulate. This sense of light and air made the perfect setting for such a high, romantic, operetta.
