Noises Off
UMKC Theater Department

Noises Off must be one of the most deceptively complex pieces of theater that exist. When done properly, each act builds cacophonously upon the last creating the appearance of absolute pandemonium. In order to capture every gag in the script, the director and I had to fully storyboard and choreograph each movement before any design were completed. Once the storyboard was complete, I then had to translate the storyboard into a set design that communicated the feel and time of the play, while allowing for the proper timing and visual relationships of the sequence of gags.
